A special technique to record Periscope broadcasts or replays

Hi,

After a little break here I am with more tips and tricks, only the best of the best.

This post is about a special technique you can use to record your own broadcasts or replays.

The trick to record Periscope broadcasts or replays goes as follows:

What you will need:

  • PC or Mac
  • Software to record the screen of your PC or Mac, such as: Camtasia, Screenflow, Screen-o-matic, QuickTime for Mac, etc.

Baby steps to record Periscope broadcasts:

  1. Turn on your Screen recorder (don’t record yet).
  2. Start your broadcast in your iPhone or iPad or iPod (I recommend you use a tripod or something to keep your iDevice stable and pointing at you).
  3. Open your favorite web browser (I recommend Google Chrome).
  4. Type the address of your username, example: www.periscope.tv/myusername
  5. Once you’ve started your broadcast, refresh the browser with F5 or Command R or by clicking in the Reload button. You should see your own broadcast on the screen now.
  6. Start recording your screen now.
  7. When you end your broadcast, stop the screen recorder software.

Baby steps to record Periscope replays:

  1. Turn on your Screen recorder (don’t record yet).
  2. Open your favorite web browser (I recommend Google Chrome).
  3. Type the address of the username you want to record, example: www.periscope.tv/the_username
  4. Once you’ve selected which replay to record, start recording your screen now.
  5. When the replay ends, stop the screen recorder software.

Now you have available the screen recorder video to upload or share or save, etc.

Enjoy the trick!
